We Get What We ARE - Not What We Want
Cranking with the Cosmic Flow
The Speculation Continues...
Do you still pray and negotiate with deity or are you a metaphysician cranking with the Cosmic Flow, trying to align yourself with Ascension ideas, High Frequency Vibration and Cosmic Flow? Are you in 3-D striving for 5-D or think that's just another version of separation rather than unity? Maybe you too have heard or practice(d) what the spiritual gurus are preaching - these New Age and New Thought laws: What we resist, persists. That’s a big one when it comes to bills or poverty. They tell us if we focus on “how am I going to pay the bills” we just get more bills and struggle. Or what we focus on manifests – that’s why some say we want to be careful with our thoughts and strive to be “enveloped in what we want to create” rather than resisting what we don’t want, the thinking being what we resist persists. For some it might take the form of when a friend is struggling, you can't infect yourself with their troubles and quickly walk away from their "negativity". Or maybe it's not letting God hear your doubts about scripture or else He might send you to hell. Don’t question. Don’t use critical thinking. Don't care. Even your "prayers or affirmations" are carefully crafted to not use any negative words. Stick to the affirmative and wall out reality.
Then there’s what you think about, you bring about. Thought creates form. That’s the thinking that allows some to justify not fighting against Trump, fascism, authoritarianism and corruption. Resisting Trump gives him energy and helps him thrive. Or so they say to justify being neutral, not naming his deeds or distinguishing between right and wrong? Just focus on love they say. Ignore the world on fire. Don’t get involved. Let it work itself out. Sounds like spiritual bypassing to me, giving one license to do nothing but think good and loving thoughts with no moral responsibility. To hell with being a good citizen. But is this really loving? Or are they actually just afraid? Our world is awash in the avoidance technique of spiritual bypassing. Maybe that's why there are so many people not practicing morality these days. Looking the other way as atrocities pile up.
Me, I think about social justice. I think about a world without patriarchy. I teach about women’s rights and agency. I think about the need for a world of justice and equality. I want to bring that about – but somehow some people don’t equate that with love. I find that interesting. According to some, that's resistance and division and disrupts the Cosmic Flow. I guess they don’t know about agape – love for your species, your gender, your fellow human. Actually I think that's their cognitive disconnect. And let's admit, especially today, that's a lot harder than using just using flowery language, enveloping oneself in love and not showing up to help the world bend toward justice. You see, I think some of these people really just want to drop out. Or they can’t imagine a world of equality and justice. Or maybe some don’t want one. They don't see anything wrong with a world without diversity, equity and inclusion. They see ICE doing their thing and toss out a thumbs up!
Personally, a couple years in, I have my doubts about a lot of this New Thought. Some of it - I don’t really believe in anymore. With the world on fire are we really going to sit back and do nothing? Name it 5-D love and compassion like that somehow legitimizes their abdication of morality? Sure. Maybe that’ll be okay if you’re white. Or a man. Or a Christian. Or rich. Or a woman not interested in her freedom and agency in a world where patriarchy is on steroids. My mother was a woman comfortable taking a back seat. I know the type. Let the men worry about it I've got grocery shopping to do.
Goddess spirituality taught us we don't need priests. I think we reach a point where don't need spiritual gurus either. Of course, if you work toward a goal in your life, your tenacity will hopefully reward you. So in that sense what you think about, you do bring about. Of course, we don’t want to sabotage ourselves with negative thoughts or self doubt. Do we really need spiritual gurus to tell us this? Seems like common sense to me.
Here's what I’ve come to think – and I’m a work in progress, ya’ll. I admit that. But I think this is the part everyone misses with the Law of Attraction....
We get what WE ARE. It's the Law of Resonance.
It Comes First, Before the Law of Attraction.
This idea, the Law of Resonance, was brought to me by a friend by way of Michael Beckwith’s teachings and I’ve seen it happen in my life over and over. I get more of who I already am. Truly who I am at my core. I’m a good friend, I get good friends. I am a teacher, I get opportunities to teach. I’m content and I get more of what I need to be content. I love and I’m loved in return. I feel like I have enough and I get enough. I treat people decently then most treat me decently.
According to Beckwith, as I understand the Law of Resonance, we are supposed “to be” abundance if we want to have abundance. Because striving for abundance keeps us in the striving. The Universe continues to give us more wanting and striving because in that striving that’s what we currently are. We just attract more striving. You have to believe you are or your life is abundant to get abundance. No room for cracks in the psyche. No doubts. Believe it! Know it! Hard to do if down deep you're struggling everyday.
What we’re looking for, we’re looking with, according to Ernest Holmes of New Thought metaphysics. Activate what we already are. And you’ll attract what you are. This one I believe most and here’s why:
I did a 30-Day Abundance experiment. I had to eat, drink and sleep abundance. By that I mean think, write affirmations, journal, meditate on abundance during every day and night. Read abundance mantras and prayers, have it in my thoughts throughout the day. Convince myself I am one with the source of abundance. Literally I was brainwashing myself in abundance or enveloping myself in what I wanted to manifest. It worked. I got abundance of many types from sources I least suspected, but it’s very difficult to keep up that type of focus and live a life. I managed to sustain it for that month, but it was exhausting. And if I'm honest maybe I put a lot more into this brain-washing or enveloping technique than the abundance that I did seem to get out of the exercise.
Which brings me back to the Law of Resonance – and what I’m saying here is my perspective. It may or may not be what the established and famous self-help gurus tell you. I believe we do get what we are, without all the self brain-washing and exhaustive focus I just described in the abundance exercise.
Follow my thought exercise. If you’re usually full of grievance, anger, fear and disappointment you’re going to get more of that. For instance, if you hate brown people or want to oppress others, control women's lives, then I believe you’re going to get more discord, dissatisfaction, unhappiness and negativity in your life. If you haven’t cleaned up your shadow, you’ll manifest experiences that perpetuate those feelings or beliefs. Maybe you have self doubt or resentment. Maybe you feel insecure. Then maybe that manifests in not being able to get a decent job or relationship. You're lonely because you lack self esteem and self worth. You exude lack or failure. So what do some do in response to the disappointment? Maybe they scapegoat women and brown people who are taking your jobs. Or, maybe you tell someone to speak their truth but then when they do you and you disagree with them, you quietly hold it against them creating discordant or dishonest vibrations coming to you. That could lead to so many unhealthy or unhappy manifestations. Maybe you really don’t care so much about others, then wonder when others don’t care about you. If you’re not a serious person of integrity, people are going to see it, feel it and treat your accordingly and when you blame others for your unhappiness and lack of success you’re just digging your hole deeper. We have to clean up our own shit if we want a good life. Honesty and self awareness is key, even if you don't immediately like what you see in yourself. Is this why there are so many angry and hateful people out there blaming others because they've never learned morality and having healthy boundaries or respect for others, especially others not like them?
Now if you happen to be in a rich family or have connections, you might be buffered from all this for awhile, because money can buy access – but it can’t buy happiness, contentment and satisfaction. So that ugly hole in the billionaire’s heart just manifests more sadness which probably makes them angrier and full of resentment and they kick the dog or don’t give their employee a raise or cheat on their wife or slash Medicare. You get where I’m going with this? We can’t be immoral or hateful and have a quality life, no matter how it might look from the outside looking into these people’s lives. We don’t see their inner turmoil and unhappiness.
On the flip side, if you are kind and understanding you will get that returned to you. If you feel like you’re happy and content, you will continue to manifest that happiness and contentment. If you’re resilient and believe in yourself, challenges, if they come your way, are easily overcome. If you see challenges as gifts and teachings, that healthy and positive response is a signal to the Universe you don’t need that challenge anymore.
Myself, I’m a writer, teacher and a communicator and the Universe continues to provide opportunities for me to do that because that is what I am. I guess if you’re a healer, you’ll be presented opportunities to heal. If you honestly feel grateful you’ll get more things to feel grateful for. If you really don’t care about others, then don’t wonder why not so many care about you. See what I mean? Who you are at your core informs what you do, the vibrations you put out and what you get more of.Imagine - if more of us were social justice warriors at our core, we would have a more just world. Instead we got way too many spiritual bypassers wearing blinders and looking the other way and calling it being in 5-D consciousness.
Now here’s where I’m speculating the spiritual bypassersand the 5-D Ascension people get stuck.
They want to believe they’re already all those lofty high vibration ideals at their core: love, compassion, harmony, peace – but are they really? Maybe they're trying to fake it until they make it, but if there's anything to all this then I think you can’t fool the Universe. It's science. It's frequency. You can pretend to be morally or spiritually superior and wear that mask or personae, but if inside you’re really full of doubt, fear, anger, resentment or you devalue others, support ugliness and inequality or people who do, then you are going to get negative energies, people and opportunities coming your way. Maybe you support immoral people because you want to make America great again - MAGA. You’ve rationalized it’s the right thing to do. In the end I don’t think it’s going to go well. Is it going well? They can pretend all they want to be something they’re not or feel justified to hate or hurt or oppress others but the Universe won’t gift them with what they aren’t. Which brings about New Age Law - Like attracts like.
But we're only going to attract the good stuff, the stuff that feeds our heart and soul, after we've cleaned up who we are.
The ancients wrote on the walls of their healing temples: Know Thyself. That comes back to me often. We have to know and face who we are at our core. If we are content with our lives, then Goddess bless. That is such freedom and the real gift of life. If we are unhappy with our lives, and who we are when we look behind our mask, then it’s on us to fix it - don't blame someone else. See what shadows are still lurking that need to be purged so that we can manifest something better and become who we truly want to be and stop pretending we’re there already.
If we want to change our life, if we aren’t happy, we might have to change who we really are and that means unlearn what’s been familiar. Do something different. Clean up our act. That’s my thought experiment and food for thought for you.
As we will it, so shall it be!
We are the collective consciousness and we determine our reality!
